Yeah, the teenager/young man in me sometimes really gets ticked off by the sheer lies that are perpetrated today.

The vast ignorance general people often put forth... man, that is staggering at times. With an attention span that of a fly... they kind of think (?), that that would do it ? Or the look into the boulevard newspapers, makes you an expert of some kind ? Jeezaz ! And that bloody running like ducks group-think... In for the latest. While when you tuck a little bit on their skin; hate, rejections and intolerance are pouring out. Already 2 sentences are enough - and you get the whole enchilada tossed at ya'.

Well, now that's a great attitude, huh ?! It "surely" favors knowledge and discussions. Not.

In terms of arguments

not much else comes along, other than the everlasting parroting of what comes above for us to be told to think. It is like a script being repeated over and over ad nauseam. Don't people on their plate look beyond their local horizon ?! But hey, they are experts (in opinions, yeah).

I often get to hear very strong, in stone chiseled opinions combined with heated emotions - yet at the same time, i also get to know that they often don't know much about a subject in question. And close themselves off to any further information. Any kind of diverging discussions, alternate facts and opinions - are off limits. It is like a brain shut-down. How is that even possible all at the same time ?!

While thinking that science is something you 'agree on' - and then it is "settled". (And from there on, again, no other opinion or argument are permitted)

What kind of bullshit is that ?!

Real science never used to settle. That is how science developed forward in the first place.
