My God

The sun this morning feels like super strong. Very intense to the degree that you can barely see. OK, i was newly awakened standing at the balcony, so that explains the feeling of not being able to see. But still - it is incredible how strong the sun has become this time of the year. A reminder of that we are indeed into the month of May ! Only 1 month left - or 6-7 weeks until summer solstice !!

Sometimes time goes kind of sloooow - and then all of the sudden, you not only passed the threshold traversing from a long dark and cloudy winter time... going into the lighter part of the year. Somehow my inner clock seems to be a little "behind", so to speak. Perhaps that has also to do with that spring and summer up here in Scandinavia are delayed too. I mean we now had 3-4 nights/mornings with frost - and the max temperatures are on the chilly side during daytime.

However, the sun is oozing with its strong rays as if it was already summer.

Gone, baby gone (Tullinge weather station)

SMHI took the nearest station to my place (7 km) off-line, called "Stockholm - Tullinge". An old airfield, a former military airfield. That one I used to refer to as a weather station which should very clearly a place without the city's warming effect. Not unusual, with minimum temperatures 8 to 10° lower than in the city.

But now it has been canceled.

Which means I have no references left to see, how an unaffected temperature correlates with the temperatures in Stockholm inner city.

Other official stations are Berga, a military base but located at the coast. That one however is affected by the sea water, and not such a good comparison. Because in spring, the temperatures are cooler there compared to those located inland. The other way around - in autumn - temperatures are higher in Berga, especially during night time, due to the warming effect from the sea weather.

Speaking of... sunshine hours

Let me see how the sunshine hours have developed in Stockholm this far... Well, it went from weak to very strong, among the highest in recent years, with an 30 day average daily sunshine of 11.21 hours !

Reminding me a little bit of spring 2023, which too was a very sunny time !

Also 2024, albeit during winter into spring, sunshine hours where very weak - in fact April was so cloudy, that it registered less sunshine than March. 2024.

However, then in May, the sun took off like a rocket reaching almost record levels
