Tonight
I work with Karin at the Högdalen metro train depot - and that means (most likely) that both before we check our 6-7 trains that everything is ok for them in the morning to drive out - we have the time before and after, to make some light painting. We already have had two sessions together - where we WILDLY paint the room in which we sit, where later the morning drivers collect before they are heading out.
It is primarily about getting to know the light painting tools. So, we don't really have any particular concept or ideas - and perhaps therefore it all can look a bit chaotic. Yet, it is childish fun to paint the room with all kinds of color effects from the various light painting tools I provide.
And boy have I've been shopping light painting tools. Some of which I have started to create my own tools, instead of buying ready made ones.
it is so fun.
However i tend to bounce against a wall very quickly
- where things repeat or just don't develop any further. Usually 1-2 nights of sleep give me a refresh in mind, and I start anew. One thing i believe hinders me, is that I often don't know my tools well enough, in order to actually finely adjust my skills better. I still feel like I am in a Kindergarten or Toystore and just bouncing around, aimlessly without concept or ideas. In a way, i am no artist, and probably never was, despite having done some good work though the pat 40 years.
I am more the type of a "sorcerer's apprentice".
In good and in bad. Since I almost always work alone, i never seem to develop far enough. Either it is a lack of discipline, or perhaps a lack of cooperation, lack external feedback, or whatever.
The fun inspiring factor
Nevertheless. Working with Karin - is in itself rewarding, because it is childish fun. Just THAT alone is inspiring. And the same it was with Sammy.
A driver who i think is a really nice (hetero) guy - but always been nice in his attitude though the many years. I simply engaged him, asking him if he is interested in doing some light painting. And he was... So, we did light paintings. (You see him on the next page)
Just to do something that is totally different. Especially for them, it certainly was totally different , compared to what your normally do at subway depot at night *LOL* checking trains of all their functions are correct. |
