It is of course fun to make these experiments - but at the same time, I have to admit that i am (as of now) not very knowledgeable with the light painting tools i use, as well the Olympus "Live Comp" settings (and its effects). So, it is like trial and error, learning in the blind, and do many experiments, in order to at least partially, get a hang of it. What works, and what doesn't.
Actually, I even started to use a gray filter, in order to further slow down the light intensity of the light painting tools (brushes, torches, etc). Sometimes I do it with both the filter, and then take the filter away, when the light effect doesn't appear in the photo. So, it is all very... improvised.
Unpredictable
The light painting brushes themselves are far more unpredictable than i expected. While lovely to look at with bare eyes, like thousands of little tiny light spots... but dependent on the angle you look at them, they shift vastly in strength. They are actually very bright when you look straight into the fibers.
But... it is fun. And quite different from what i normally do. So, every evening (when I am off, and it is dark outside), i take a few shots by experimentation. And so, the amounts of shots like that, grow over days and weeks.
