Well, well, well. Painting with various light painting tools - is more tricky than i expected. I bought the "Ants on a Melon" light painting brush tools... and that one is far more tricky than i expected. Most of the time i end up with a overdone crescendo of patterns and colors, killing the images. Unless you are into some sort of post modern 70s color clash.

"Smaken är som baken... delad", we say in Swedish. In English; "Taste is like a butt... divided".

That Bialetti Espresso pot

The photos above is one of the less chaotic ones. And no, it is not about the product. You see our since many, many years used Bialetti espresso pot. I love that one (which they don't sell anymore), because that thick black silicon ring - actually makes the pot last for ages. It prevents the inner silicon ring (the one that isolates from within), never to get "overcooked". Which occasionally happens because you set the pot back, and the gas on - but the water will be evaporated. Usually this leads into that the innards get destroyed (especially the rubber rings).

But this version, with the thick silicon ring on the outside, seem to do some magic, which prevents the pot from getting destroyed, despite mishaps. Well, and for that reason (?) they don't sell it anymore (according to my assumption). Because it doesn't break.

Serving as a "model"

So, after years it is of course a worn espresso pot - but serves as my "model" for light painting in the kitchen. As usual i use the "Live Composition" mode in the Olympus OM-1 camera, which allows me to let the camera shutter to stay open indefinitely, without ever risking overexposure in the shadows (because it only lets in the highlights. Kind of light highlight stacking).

However, it is quite easy to overexpose the image still - due to the light painting tools being on too bright settings... It all is a bit trickier than i thought. But I love that i feel no stress with shadow overexposure, nor do i need to work in total darkness. That makes the Olympus system very special. I am not aware that any other system have these features.
