It surely feels more autumn like, which is partially psychological. Earlier we had high seasons summer temperatures, and at times extremely warm nights right below the 20°C threshold. While now it is suddenly 10°C cooler, more overcast (at night), and far more windy.

Albeit we will get warm weather in the next couple days - but after that it could be really more autumn like and much colder than average. Polar airmasses will move into Scandinavia, as the polar cold pool splits up, sending one branch towards Northern Europe, giving unseasonable cold/chilly weather.

The now near the Antilles residing hurricane "Eris" re-curving and then become a part of the westerlies, it might pretty well pump warmer air towards Scandinavia. The question however is, if that warm air will be supported by a European high pressure area, or it all will just a quickly passing chapter.

Frankly, i don't know. The various prognosis center are changing constantly, as not in alignment with one another. So, anything can happen. GFS for the time being calculates that it will be a rather rainy influence as well milder period, yet with barely reaching 20°C. (which would be barely normal for end of august). While the European weather prediction center, calls out for a warmer period with up to 23°C at times, and some rain, but not every day.

But first it will get colder, with a max around 15°C around 23 August. A lot colder than normal, in other words.

I guess: We shall see...

What about the thunderstorms on 15 Aug 2025 ?

Well, not much happened over my area, just south of the city. See it for yourself... The cold front was a nothing burger. And the thunderstorms that popped up over East Svealand and Stockholm, where... uhm... weak. Just some rolling thunder in the distance. That was the non-show.

At least the clouds in the sky felt exciting to watch, changing rapidly.
